three nudes
when it comes to life and art, i seem to be developing a distinct
distaste for the former and a profound preference for the latter.
but consider me no artist, my friends, for i would not make art my
life. yet, seduced by the possibility of beauty, i am forever
tempted to attempt making life... art...
following are three nudes: portraits of three women that graced
my humble studio. as i am no painter, i considered this a
psychological study rather than an artistic endeavour. later, of
course, i realized that my efforts produced merely a perception of
what i had imposed on their disposition.

full of expectation from life and art, and yet circumspect. unwilling
to reveal generosity without preëmptive reciprocation. i observe her, she
examines me--evaluating perhaps the value of captivity... in an imaginary domain.

standing erect, taut, with only a subtle sway of the hip,
as if to assert strength in femininity. revealing her breasts
with invisible nipples.

aloof in gentle solitude. unselfconscious, and so conscious of self.
loving with the ease of nonchalance--not as a lover, but as a woman...to an artist.
